Carrot Dawgs

Many Many years ago there used to be a little place in Gainesville called the Coney Island Cafe, one of the things on the menu
was the Carrot Dog
I think it was a boiled carrot put on a bun, topped any way you want.
I never tried, one, but when I ask people if they have ever heard of it , most say they think it sounds terrible.
I think in the past 7 years I've had two people tell me it sounds good.
I googled it and found this.

So what does MFP think?

I can't see your pictures.
I think it sounds yummy, but I love cooked carrots, ketchup, and those two in some bread would be nice. It would be a lot lower in calories that a pork sausage, but also low in protein so IMHO it's wasted calories.0 -
Quite apart from anything else I hate cooked carrots so it would be out for me.0

With the right toppings...I think it would be good0

I am fine with cooked carrots but I can't think of what I would put on it and the bun seems like a waste of calories to me.0

Wrap it in bacon and I'll be set
Where was this place?0 -

Sounds awful. I hate cooked carrots. But even if I liked them, I don't think I'd like this.0

Nifty thought, but for me.. too much sugar, nothing in the way of protein, and then there's the bread. Now, tempeh or veggie mix maybe.. but not just the carrot. Even if it was/is tasty. Just my humble opinion though.0

they had all sorts of toppings available, the women my Dad was dating at the time, used to get it loaded with every green veggie under the sun, looked nothing like a Hot Dog when she got one.0 -
I think it is different, If you leave the bun, chips and pickles off the plate it looks fine.0
