im organising a party soon and im wanting some fresh alternatives to party pies and high fat foods =]

Fruit salad!!! Always delicious! Or veggie sticks or sweet potato fries (baked). Instead of pies, how about crustless pumpkin pie? Is it a dinner party, appetizers, or what? Shrimp is good, but can be pricy. Nuts (in moderation).0

Fruit salad!!!
Get a Fondue Set... you can melt dark chocolate & make it crowd pleasing... serve fruits. You won't feel strange eating the fruit, & a little chocolate won't kill you if you put your workout in that day. You *do* deserve to treat yourself sometimes.
Also, I went to a party lately where they served triangles of Laughing Cow Cheese & crackers. It was kind of cool... & mixed in with other low fat cheeses.
Nachos & salsa are a great alternative to potoato chips... but use real salsa, not Taco Dip, or anything like that.
And salads are always a great way to go... it doesn't all have to be finger food! Fruit salad is good. I do a Spinach Salad with Blueberries, Strawberries, Blackberries, Walnuts, & Low Fat Parmesean with a Poppyseed dressing that's very popular. Or a Romaine Salad with Craisins, Shaved Almonds, Low Fat Cheddar Cheese, Royal Gala Apples, & PoppySeed Dressing that my guests love.

Hummus and pita chips
Unsalted pretzels
sliced strawberries & bananas drizzled with a bit of melted dark chocolate0 -

a good dip with celery, carrot and water crackers isn't too bad i don't think0 -
