Hi All,
I am a 24 year old from NSW, Australia - 2nd time MFP member.
I joined MFP back in February for some motivation to lose weight for a Thailand holiday, did not quite reach my goal, but lost 7kg in 12 weeks, so could not complain! This time, similar situation. I am off to Bali in May, and need to get rid of the unwanted weight so I can look awesome in my swimmers. I get started, than lose motivation so this is where you guys come in!
My day job involves me sitting on my but. I am a travel agent, but from 9-5 I am tied to the computer organising peoples dreams!
Any tips would be great, I have the endomorph body type and I am an asthmatic - me and cardio don't really go all that well but we are getting there.
Feel free to add me
xx

Hi
I think you're looking at this the wrong way! Of course you want to look good on yor holiday, who wouldn't?!
What you need to do is to change your whole lifestyle! Not just to look good in a couple of months, but to feel good (and look good) all the time. A diet is not always the best way to lose weight. Not a quick diet anyway. The only thing you loose is water, and when you start eating again you will gain the weight back, and even more.
My advice is to start looking at what you're eating and drinking. Pizza? Hamburgers? Pasta? Sodas? The diary in MFP is a great way to see what you're acctually putting in to your mouth. Then try to eat 3 meals a day, and then something in between like a fruit, nuts, egg or avocado to keep the blood sugar steady. Drink plenty of water during the day.
Then you also need to exercise. Since you have astma I think it's a good way to start with walking. Walk as fast as you can, and walk for at least 30 minutes a day (listen to your favorite music during the walk, it makes it so much easier). This is good for your cardio exercise. And you do know that building muscles at a gym is good to, since bigger muscles burns more fat?! Try to work out 2 times a week in the gym.
I'm trying to follow my own advice as well, and it is not always easy. But I have started to work out 2-3 times a week (boxing, bodycombat, and bodybalance) and I almost always bring my own lunch to work every day (I'm also sitting by a comutor all day long). My problem is all the things I put into my mouth when I'm a work or sitting by the TV. I love chocolate!
I hope you'll find my advice helpful (and that my swedish english is understandable)
Best of luck to U!0 -
I am also aiming for a better life, but in the short, my holiday is my goal. It is one of my big goals. My first is to get below 100kg, than to get fit and toned by my holiday.
MFP food diary is great! It really shows you how bad some foods are! I excercise at least 3 times a week, and don't really drink alcohol, or soda. It is mainly my carbs, which I am gradually cutting back0 -
Then you're on the right path! I wish you good luck!!0
