I weigh a couple of times a day and hate that it fluctuates LOL. I am addicted to, but it's just the hope that it will read something lower everyday!! I don't know how to break the habit now, so I am right there with ya.0

Me tooooo. I always say once a week, then the morning comes. ErRRRRrr.....0
-
Me toooooooooo! I am thinking about picking my scale up off the floor and putting it out of sight. Maybe if I don't see it I won't use it, you know- oughta sight oughta mind. I think I will weigh just one more time before I do LOL!0
-
ugh all the time. i'm just SO anxious to see my progress. but at the same time, it's like i go up and down all the time. i need to stop, my scale is my drug. lol0
-
I weigh myself every morning. The same every day. Of course you are going to flucuate during the day, clothes, food, etc.0

I have asked my fiancee to hide it.....:embarassed:0 -
I am the same way! Soooo addicted!! What makes it bad is I have 2 scales! My hubby hid one, but I still have the one I love out! Every single morning I get on there after I go to the bathroom and before I get dressed!! I have no idea how to stop either. Yea I also weigh 2 or 3 times a day too!0

same problem here/....
everyday.... 3 times a day....
it amasing how your weight can change in a couple of hours..0 -
I weigh a lot. I donno why, I don't care that much about my weight LOL. I just like to see what happens during the day. It's always about the same at certain times of day, and I know when it's changing because it will be slightly lower throughout the day than on previous days. I'm not bothered by fluctuations though, usually just means I hafta go potty.:blushing: :laugh:0
-
i am sooooooooo glad i'm not theonly onne that does this!! I say i'm not going to,but sure enugh the next day i getup and hop onit right after i go to the bathroom, probably doesn't help that i see it when onthe toilet!! LOL. I will also do it during the day just to see how much it fluctuates, but with my clothes on!0

I'm an addict too, my name is Christie ....lol. I cleaned our WW scale this morning prior to going on, then when I was up lbs that I didn't think I should be, I thought it may have to do with cleaning and/or re-positioning!!!:noway: Then bf told me he had weighed unbenownced (sp?) to me, so it happens to alot of folks, he's in my house and I didn't know :laugh:0

I am so addicted to the scale and unfortunately it can totally change my mood. I can't believe how much I can flucuate! One day I fluctuated 7 freakin' pounds overnight- I am not kidding! So I have resorted to weighing myself every morning after I go pee but before I eat or drink anything. If I gain then it makes me want to binge even though it should do the opposite.0
-
I weigh myself everyday first thing in the morning..........monitor my diet closely all day....then when I come home from work I weigh again.....I like to see how it fluctuate.....if I sta;y on the diet routine, I am not worried about the fluctuation....but if I deviate some on the diet and weigh myself...if it deviates too much, I work a little harder the next day on the exercise and water intake......but besides all this....I only count my weight for record once a week on Sunday mornings.........:grumble: what really kills me, no matter what my weight is on Sunday, I record it even if it's a little higher that a weight I took during the week that doesn't count.......but if it's higher, it just makes me more motivated to excell the following week...........and it does motivate me.................Carol :bigsmile:0

I weigh myself every morning at about the same time ... it helps me stay focussed on my goals and to keep meal planning & exercise high on my daily priority list.
What's the big deal? Why are you all so angry at yourselves for weighing in? I don't get it.
... seems to me you're just adding stress and anxiety to an "issue" that really is a non-issue. if you're in the bathroom, and you happen to step on the scale during the day ... so be it.
Did "they" say you shouldn't weigh yourself daily? Who the hell are "they" anyway?
Probably the same "they" that tell you to cut back on dairy products because of high fat content and then tell us to eat more dairy because of the high calcium content. Or the "they" that tell you we are fat because we eat too much and then tell us to eat more or else we'll put our bodies in starvation mode. Or maybe it's the "they" who tell us not to eat rich chocolate sinful sweets and then make us chocolate flavored artificial sweetener loaded diet goodies to keep us addicted to the idea of dessert ....0 -
I have a serious weighing myself addiction. I weight myself after everything I eat in a day. I'm trying to break the habbit because this is what got me into trouble last time....0
-
Weighing after everything you eat does sounds a bit extreme ...
but what do you mean by "it got you into trouble last time?"0 -

in my case when i weigh myself after every meal i get dissapointed because i gain weight, and if i have not the lost the weight before morning i start freaking out. last time i lost weight i would just eat less so when i weighed myself 6 times i day i wouldnt gain weight and i would see results faster. it became a bad habbit and i went from 185 pounds to 125 pounds in about 2 months. if you weigh yourself weekly then you wont be as focussed as much on the little changes that don't matter. if you know what i mean...for me its scary because i still weigh myself 6 times a day now and i fear that i will become sick again.
yes that is me in the ticker.. when i weighed 125 pounds.0 -
I'm not a scale addict, but I can see the uses. It's been motivating to me as it gives me something to look at every day and remind me that I am going to do this. So I'm not sure that once a day is necessarily a bad thing for me.0

I used to be really addicted.
Weigh every morning, many times during the day and weigh before bed.
I knew what the scale would be the next morning by the number on the scale that night.
It became like a drug and helped in the downward spiral.
The more weight I lost, the more the scale addiction grew.
I dropped almost 100 pounds not in a healthy way before I got my head on straight again.
Now a few yrs later and putting about 60 pounds back on, I've finally learned to take things in stride.
I only weigh in the mornings now.0 -
I used to be addicted to the scale. I'd weigh twice a day. I'm down to twice a week and I hope to eventually only weigh once a month.
It can be done!!!
I'm trying to measure my progress by how I feel, how I look, and how my clothes are fitting instead of by my weight because it just jumps around so much.0 -
I am a scale junky and I swear the scale is the DEVIL!:devil:0

I like everyone's comments..........I weigh myself everyday only to stay motivated....i know it will fluxuate some going into weighing myself.......but if it gets too out of control in the wrong direction.....I can correct it right away.......................Carol0

completely opposite - ive been on this path for about 6 weeks and havent weighed once
i figure if can feel the difference in my clothes thats more important than the weight itself
that will come naturally and if im doing it right then there will be a slow transformation from in body shape, weight will alter but perhaps differently as muscle mass builds...
anyone agree or disagree with this approach - im curious0 -
I weigh myself three times a day, in the morning before I go to work , when I come in from work and then again before I go to bed. I'm starting to see a change alright but I think I should start doing it once a week...0

I used to have serious eating problems and became a tad obsessed. These days, I keep my scales at my mum's, so I can't weigh myself all the time. And I do mean all the time. I'd weigh myself if I ate anything, then after I threw what I'd eaten back up, everytime I drank anything and everytime I went to the bathroom. I'm still hankering to weigh myself, but that's because I want to see if I've dropped anything- not to punish myself. Plus, I weigh myself in the morning now, so even when I get to my mum's, I have to wait anyway. Much better system, for me anyrate. Just remember if you do weigh yourself everyday to look for the longer term results. Sure, you may weigh more tomorrow than you do today but fluctuation is normal. So long as your averages keep going down, the day to day shouldn't trouble you. (No doubt I'm preaching to the choir, but it's something I used to forget all too often)0

The best scale for me is my mirror. I don't weigh myself at all. I used to weigh myself and became frustrated. This led to even more drastic measures...not eating enough, overtraining, micro-managing everything. Now, I just plug in my food and exercise numbers into MyFitnessPal, sit back, and enjoy the fitness journey!0
