Getting enough water at work....

I have a small problem...I used to be great at getting my 64 oz of water a day (if not more) but now I'm finding it a challenge. You see, I am going to school to be a radiologic technologist and part of the program is clinicals at a hospital so we learn how to do things in real life and not just a classroom. Right now I'm at the hospital Tuesday and Thursday from 7-4. We are not allowed to have any drinks in the room that we work in and are suppose to keep drinks in the locker room down the hall. The only real down time I have is my luch break and can usually get 3 glasses in if I push it. The problem is that I don't have a water bottle next to me anymore to mindlessly drink in short moments of free time; which is how I usually reached my goal in the past. I know a lot of people are going to say to get more water in later in the day but for some reason, I can't drink that much at night; I never have. I always got my 8 glasses in before 5 pm and am finding it hard to break that. Any suggestions?

Try drinking a glass or two prior to going to work/class. Drink it on your breaks/lunch. Then by the evening you may only have 1 or 2 to do.
  • are there water fountains around? (I know some hospitals have them, or bubblers) even just a quick drink as you walk down a hall would be helpful.

well you have to get up for work around at least 6 right? start then with a bottle so that's two servings, and i drink water on my way to school as well, so before 8am i might have already finished two bottles so that's half of the day's water. drink a couple servings at lunch, and then right after you get off drink the final 1-2, and bam, DONE before 5pm :)

oh yeah and my mom as been a Tech for about 20-21years. pay is good, and she loves her job, she started with doing x-rays and does cat scans now, hope you really enjoy your career :)

Have you considered a hydration pack that can be worn under your clothing? There are some pretty small packs available that would probably fit under your clothing w/o being seen.
A Google search would probably show many different options.
