    I too would worry about burn-out. I don't think enough is mentioned to how good a long walk is.

    Don't underestimate what you can burn with a fast walk. My coworkers walk at speeds greater than 4 mph, and going fora 50 min walk with them always burned more calories for me than doing a 30-35 minute C25K session, so if it is the burn you are after, you can get it done without the high impact every day.

    Long distance running isn't damaging! It's exhilarating! And it's about the #1 way to burn calories in a given amount of time. You *can* get hurt if you don't do it right, but that applies to anything.

    What people say is right. But you probably underestimate the risk of injury. Trust me I did too. And it sucks when you want to run and u have shin splits or ur knees hurt. Everything in balance and moderation is the right way to go about it
