I too would worry about burn-out. I don't think enough is mentioned to how good a long walk is.
Don't underestimate what you can burn with a fast walk. My coworkers walk at speeds greater than 4 mph, and going fora 50 min walk with them always burned more calories for me than doing a 30-35 minute C25K session, so if it is the burn you are after, you can get it done without the high impact every day.0 -
Long distance running isn't damaging! It's exhilarating! And it's about the #1 way to burn calories in a given amount of time. You *can* get hurt if you don't do it right, but that applies to anything.0

What people say is right. But you probably underestimate the risk of injury. Trust me I did too. And it sucks when you want to run and u have shin splits or ur knees hurt. Everything in balance and moderation is the right way to go about it0
