HELP!!!!! Have been doing Biggest Loser competition at work, was doing really well to start with but for the past few weeks, nothing i've gone up a pound, then down a pound then up a pound and down a pound and so on and so forth and I am sick of it now.

I know what your initial thoughts are gonna be "ignore the scale.... muscle weighs more than fat.... its your body adjusting" but how am I actually gonna win the competition when I am not physically losing any weight!!! I need the scales to go down!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone provide some tips? What worked for you? I'm on the verge of depression here, I am working so hard, logging everything, i started running (which I never thought i'd do in my life) and nothing is working. I'm trying to eat as clean as I can, usually eat half if not all of my exercise calories....NOTHING!!!

I'm sorry to rant on like this but typing this out is helping me to stave off the tears, I really am gutted about all this and I don't know what to do.

....please.... someone help me

Girl, you look pretty slender! That could be the "problem" maybe :). Although you could also be holding some water weight. If you are drinking diet drinks, STOP because they will bloat you. And try the Jillian Michael's diet drink, it is supposed to help excess water weight leave the body:

Get 60 ounces of distilled or pure water and...
Add a tablespoon of sugar free cranberry juice and...
Add 1 dandelion root tea bag and...
Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and...
You Drink the 60 ounces every day for 7 days
  • looked at your diary.....might want to try focusing on lowering your sugar. (and believe me I am preaching to myself as well) best of luck!
  • Drink lots of water. Eat vegetables and fresh fruit. Add sodium to your diary so you can see if you are getting too much. Also check your protein and see if you need to eat more of that.

You can do this!!! You are going to be the biggest loser!!! LOL!!!

    It happened to me too.

When did you start running? Where you used to such strenuous exercise? If you weren't, your leg muscles are building. To stave off that depression, I say pick up a measuring tape, & check your inches. Did you log them when you started? It helps when you hit a plateau like this.

I dropped 2lbs this week though... finally. I hit onto the couch-to-5k week where you go "5 min run, 2 min walk, 8 min run, 2 min walk, 5 min run" to "8 min run, 5 min walk, 8 min run" to "run for 20 min" all in the same week. It's a quick change, & yesterday, I'm not gonna lie, I stopped the treadmill at 15 minutes I thought I was gonna die... & then re-started to run for another 3 minutes... then walked the last two. I didn't make the 20 mintues. I might today though.

But it happens. The first couple fo weeks of couch-to-5k nothing happened for me. Now... a lot is, all at once. Be patient. I know it's a contest... we did one at work too. One of the boys won.

Have you tried changing your eating habbits? A couple of days of eating only veggies & fish/chicken might help. Skip the diet pop/soda (depending on where you're from, it's pop to me here in Canada), because it turns your body acidic & you don't lose weight. I know it's no calorie, but SO IS WATER.

Other than that... good luck. Try to be patient... & check those measurements! :flowerforyou:

This isn't what you want to hear, but what I'm reading isn't a problem with losing weight. What I'm reading is that you are way too wrapped up in this competition.
There is no reason that the prospect of not winning this competition should be bringing you to the point of tears. In my opinion, you should refocus your attention on you and not this competition.

Thanks for this. Sounds interesting I'll give it a go! Thanks for saying i look slender :flowerforyou: but according to the Doctor, I am over weight and not in the "normal" catergory for my height. I have also been slimmer before, I am currently a UK size 12 but have previously fit into a 10 which i'd like to be again. I think this is going to take longer than I thought as I've only got about 10 pounds I want to lose really. I know they're the hardest to shift so I will perservere!!
