I have been using this site for just over a week now. Have been actively trying to loose weight for a couple of months now and have been trying maybe not so actively for about 6 months and am finding this site really usefully for tracking what I am eating and taking the guess work out of things. I am also trying to get fitter and I am training to run my first half marathon in March 2012, in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK. I lost my dad recently to this disease with only 5 weeks between diagnosis and him passing away, which is all part of the reason for me wanting to shed the unwanted pounds.

Don't really know how much to put here about myself as I am new to the whole forum type thing, but I am female 39, in the UK, mum to 2 kids, I work and am studying for an accountancy qualification and I enjoy photography and karate (recently graded to 1st kyu - 1 away from black belt)

I have lost around 1 stone in the past 6 months and I am hoping to loose a further 15lbs in the fut
