Hey everyone! I am considering getting a heart rate/calorie counter watch, I have researched a few. But I want to know if anyone has any information about what they use, or what is the best one for the money. I would prefer one that is a functional watch, and also you can read your heart rate with or without the chest band. Thanks!!!

I would recommend Polar Brand... I have the Polar F4 and it does have a chest strap.. Been using it for a couple years and love it!

I have a Polar FT4, it has a chest strap. LOVE it.

My first HRM didn't have a chest strap and was highly inaccurate, I ended up putting on a couple lbs during the week of use because it told me that I burned twice as many calories as I actually did.

You really need the chest strap to get an accurate reading. I have the Polar FT40 and I love it. Works great!
  • Thanks for this information!
  • I wish I would have read this 2 hours ago! I just went on my lunch hour and bought a Mio. I went back and forth between that one and the Polar, and decided to go with the Mio. I guess I'll be going back for an exchange!
  • I have looked at the Polar FT 4 online and it has a chest strap. It looks like it has everything I need, anyone have it? Do you like it? I would like something that I can wear everyday. Do they record calories burned during the day? Or just during a workout?
