Went to Chipotle for lunch today and they now have brown rice! It has the same lime and cilantro flavor as the white rice.....quite yummy. Just thought I would share since they said that they started serving it today.

Actually there really isn't much difference in nutrition when you compare white an brown rice.0

WOOOOT! I've been waiting for this!! Hopefully in my area too!
Although I've been making my own with brown rice that is pretty damn good and cheaper...0 -
Our Chipotle has always had brown rice... but they only opened a couple of months ago. I do prefer brown rice. But why do they give you SO much rice??0

I am sad that the ones near me do not yet have brown rice. They are testing it in different markets. My sister lives in Denver and she brags all the time.0

Haven't had chipotle in a while. Will try this, if ours offer it.0

It depends on wether the white rice has been fortified or not otherwise Brown rice is healthier. White rice started out as brown rice and then has several nutirients removed to make it white by polishing it. A couple articles explain it better than I do see below- I highly prefer the brown rice and its extra fiber.

The fiber is almost completely removed from the brown rice to make it white, along with a lot of nutirents and vitamins. So your chipotle Burrito or bowl just got a lot healthier switching to the brown rice. Now if theyd switch to a high fiber whole grain flour making those shells...0 -

Isn't it wonderful! I think I made this same identical post a few months back when I first learned about it. Now they just need to add whole wheat tortillas!0

Finally! Now I can eat there again0

You sure it wasn't just burnt?0

No it wasn't crunchy0 -
I always thought their menu featured too many calories for what you got.

It's really all in what you order. A burrito bowl with fajita veg. and carnitas and no sourcream/cheese is only 500 calories, with 39g of protein (according to the Chipotle app I have on my Android phone).0 -
Now I am craving Chipotle! :grumble:0

Yeah, it depends on what you add! Also, the portions are pretty big if ya ask me! I like to get the veggie bowl with guacamole and leave off all dairy ingredients. It's incredibly filling! Sometimes I even get it to go and it works for 2 meals.0
