Yes, this is random, but I'm trying online dating and have not been very successful.

I was wondering if there are a few women who would mind checking out my profile and giving me your thoughts or suggestions for changes. Just shoot me a message and I will send you a link.

    My wife is Filipino we meet online back in 2003,we have a 7yo daughter and doing great.. Check out the Philippines as well...

    I'd start by being you and writing like you write and being honest about who you are. If you go with the "what will get more results" approach, you will have wasted each others time when she realizes "you" aren't really what she thought she was getting.

    Plus I am sure this in no was is an attempt to fish for compliments or to use a free site like MFP to cast a bigger net. ; )

    I agree wholeheartedly which is why I came to somewhere like here to get advice from strangers. I very well could have posted this on Facebook, and gotten B.S. advice from my friends. I put out honesty, I want to receive honesty.

    Fishing for compliments not so much, but the wider net approach crossed my mind ;)

    I have been totally unsuccessful at online dating sites. I can write a nice profile, but it was the actual dates that didn't quite pan out.

    I gave up ... I decided I'll wait til it just happens again. :/

I'm still holding out for that someone right for me though. I also believe that it's not luck at all but timming. When the time is right, it will happen so hang in there, i am! :)

    Good to know. I keep getting liars. I understand a little white lie here or there. But one lady claimed to be 38 in her profile and was 48. :embarassed: That's a generational lie that can't be rectified rationally.

    Then another claimed to be drama free. bahahahahahaha Really?? No one id drama free. lol

    Hang in there. I did the online dating thing and met a bunch of creeps then gave up and was enjoying being single and ended up meeting my Fiance through a mutual friend. When the time is right, it'll happen! :flowerforyou:

    She looked great for 48 for sure! But I mean I listen to music that she has never even heard of, how's that going to pan out in the long run?

    However, My roommate is 35 and his GF is 63... to each their own, just not for me.

    OK, first, let me say that you are adorable and your profile is very sweet. That being said, I am a very blunt person that will tell you straight up what I think… so please take this with a grain of salt and disregard it if it’s not your cup of tea.

    Upon reading your profile, I… got bored. It says the same thing most do. Who says they’d rather sit on the couch than do something active? No one admits that *LOL* And, who doesn’t like to travel? It was “nice.” It was “normal.” It did not grab my attention at all, strike me as original, make me laugh, and ultimately – it did not motivate me to contact you. Which is the goal, naturally. You say you’re really good at making people laugh, so… make them laugh.

    Random thoughts…

    You could say, “I am one of the good guys that knows how to treat a lady right.” OR “Women that say, ‘Flowers just die,’ should be kicked in the shins! I like some old time chivalry and the type of lady that appreciates it in return.”

    You could say, “I design pencils and notebooks and love what I do.” OR “My career is the thing dreams are made of… I just designed a Hello Kitty Pencil complete with whiskers and made some little girl out there squeal with delight. Squealing little girls + Creative job I love = Winning.”

    You could say, “It’s entirely possible for me to get whiplash if I see something shiny.”… nevermind, I say that…

    You see where I'm going? Take what you want to convey about yourself, and use your creativity. Don’t SAY you are funny and creative… SHOW them.

    Awe, I started to finish a profile on POF but maybe I won't now. I don't like going to bars or clubs and I am kind of shy so I thought online dating maybe a good place to start, but now I am starting to think otherwise :frown:

    My husband and I met online and have been happily married for 2 years. Something to keep in mind is that it does still take time and you do have to go on dates with loosers and some you think are ok but turn out not cool at all after hangin with them for a bit.

    I was on for a year and met my husband just as I was ready to leave. Figured I'ld give it one more shot and I'm glad I did. He was much luckier. I was the first date he went on but that's just because I'm awesome.

    I would try online dating but nobody would believe the random **** I write/say. I'm always saying or doing something that keeps me entertained therefore my profile would read like a comedy.

    After polling about 20 people, the results are in and they are....

    - The profile is perfect
    - The profile is terrible
    - Its too long
    - Its too short
    - It doesn't have enough about you
    - It has too much about you
    THUS proving that all women are different and there is no pleasing ANY of them.


    So it will stay the same as it is for now, thank you to those that tried to help.
