I was just wondering what new foods you have tried lately and you have found you liked? I find that eating new foods helps to make keeping the calories down interesting - it adds excitement back that you used to get from the high cal stuff.

So my list of foods I have tried for the first time recently and liked is:

Tabasco Chipotle Sauce - before, had never tried anything with Chipotle in it - it's hard to get in Australia
Mango and Banana Smoothie (I usually avoid smoothies cause I thought that a liquid couldn't fill me up, but I was wrong)
Artisan's Apprentice Bread (Had been meaning to try it for ages)
Guzman and Gomez (Taco place in Newtown, Sydney - have been meaning to go there for ages)
Mangos
Porridge
New protein bar - Horley's Peppermint Crisp

And I have eaten a lot of pumpkin lately - I never used to eat pumpkin, cause I previously did not like it, but that's changing too.

So what stuff have you tried lately and liked?

I have really come to like the ****aki tofu noodles. They are 20 calories for 1/2 the bag (2 servings in a bag). I wash them, put them in the microwave for about 40 seconds, wash them again, pat dry, then I take a lite laughing cow cheese wedge (any flavor works great), melt it in a bowl with a spoon of fat free greek yogurt and then mix it all up. Put the noodles in a skillet and toss in my cheese mixture and a few shrimp. Tastes very rich and those "noodles" taste just like pasta.

Hummus, I never thought it even sounded good, but once I finally tried it I like it.

Duck, yep gonna pass on that one...very fatty and dry all at the same time, at least when I tried it.

Lobster, love the mild flavor and low calories.

Scallops, another great seafood - who knew?

I'm trying to convince myself to give fish a try again, but it's tough.

    Pomegranates, yum!

Tofu, seriously! When cooked correctly it can be good.

Some porridge with stewed apples or pears makes a good breakfast for me. Started doing it recently.
Homemade chicken tacos are also a new thing for me. Just cook some chicken, cut in small pieces, add some lettuce, tomatoes and shredded cheese if you like. I prefer flour tortillas. Fun to make and low in cals:)
Hope u end up trying one of these!!

    Soya nuts... mmm...

Garlic roasted cauliflower is my new favourite recipe. I tried it when someone posted it on mfp. So delicious.

They taste like the filling in pork dumplings from the Chinese restaurant. Mmm.....

I made a Jamie Oliver recipe for the first time last Friday night (Brocolli Orichette) and it was gorgeous. Had my friends over too.
