Various Dinner Times

My career keeps me on my feet and I never know when I'm going to be able to be able to eat. I have gotten in the habit of carrying healthy snacks and packing small lunches, and keep my protein shakes with me. However recently I have been having later dinners, somewhere in the area of 9pm - 10pm then I go to bed. I have only done this for the past week, but I am trying to find an alternative or set up a schedule to pre-cook dinners for the whole week when I work. Anyhow, my question is..even though I am still eating healthy, and being consistant with my workouts...does it matter what time I eat before bed? When this happens, I typically do an early morning workout the next day when I wake up. Thanks pals!

  • Many people say not to eat late, but when it comes down to it, its a simple formula of number of calories in and number of calories out. I know for me, I stay up a little later if I eat late more because I don't feel well if I go to sleep right away.
  • I cannot eat and go to bed, much in the same way I can't get up and immediately eat. I wake up, have tea/water eat something close to an hour later. If I have a late dinner which was tonight (Just finished) I will have to wait at least an hour before trying to sleep. I do agree with no eating before bed because I think most people just sleep better, I know I do.

Provided you don't have digestive distress or sleep problems, I would say eat whenever you want. It will not adversely effect your metabolism or cause you to gain fat (more than it would had you eaten it earlier).
