I started at 170, but my highest weight was 185,.I lost 15 pounds in the space of 2 weeks because I got pneumonia (so not fun). I didn't really start trying to lose weight until 6 months later. I think that the biggest reason I finally did it this time around was actually understanding the concept of counting calories, I did a test run here with what I used to eat on a normal basis and it came to over 4000 calories, and that was usually all at night seeing as I usually skipped breakfast and lunch!
I get the " How did you do it?" question alot now, and my answer is always, eat less and more often and exercise more.

Yeah, I had weeks where I didn't lose and even weeks where I gained, but for the most part it's been pretty consistent with me losing 1 to 2 pounds a week. The first week I lost 5, after that the most I lost in a week was probably 3. The thing is I went in with a mindset that even though I didn't lose or I had a bad week, I wasn't going to stress about it. Ok, I did stress a little, but not like I used to in the past where I would have one bad day and give up after that.I also told myself everyday that I didn't care if it took forever, at least I was doing the right thing and if it happens it happens. I struggled for years to lose weight, and I was always trying to do it the unhealthy way like not eating for two weeks or even going as far as throwing up. I really believe that I was on the edge of an eating disorder, I like eating better:wink:
