Ok, I feel really wierd asking this..but has anyone else had a CRAZY INCREASE in urination since their journey to weight loss?? I don't know if this is normal, but I feel like I am on the pisser ever 20 minutes!!! Yes, I am consistantly drinking water...extemely limited soda (ie: one 12 oz can a week) and coffee occassionally..but my water intake is usually no more than 67.6 oz a day. Is this normal??

If that is more water than you drank before it is very normal. I drink about 72 ounces of water or more a day, and especially when I started that I was in the toilet a lot.0

i dont think its normal. I go to a urologist for my own personal health problems and the doctor told me that flavor supps pop and coffee all increase urination. But still shouldnt be going but every couple hrs. What goes in, must come out.0

Yes, because I track how much water I drink, and end up drinking way more, and so I'm peeing all the time.0

Aside from an increase of water intake (I'm guessing), you're probably losing water weight as well...so yes, you would be using the bathroom more often.0

Thats comforting..thanks!!! I guess I never thought about my water intake before, b/c I don't believe that I ever drank much water. A 32 pack of Aquafina would sit in my kitchen for a month at a time...now I have installed a soft water, filter for water because I drink so much now!!0

I would say yes. I'm not an expert but I now drink 2.2 liters a day. I purchased a jug that size to take to work with me. I did notice I go more often. I suppose it's got to go somewhere it can't stay inside you. Just drain yourself as needed. LOL0

Yes. The fact that your drinking more water is a more "obvious" answer ... but I also heard that an increase of urine is the body's way of expelling fat --- according to livestrong.com, when you have a calorie deficit, your body turns to its fat stores for energy (calories) and once it uses the calories that it needs, all that is left of the fat is water and carbon dioxide ... the water is excreted through urine and the carbon dioxide is excreted through the lungs. --- so it would make sense that if you are losing weight, you will be peeing more! .. so... Good Job with the peeing! haha0

You could have a bladder infection OR the glucose level in your blood might be high. You need to see your primary doctor without delay (but it's not an emergency).
SUGGESTION: Print off a copy of your daily food diary & exercise diary for the 7 days prior to your doc's appointment. Make the appointment for early morning and don't eat nor drink anything the morning of your appoinment until after the doc's visit (he may want to order a blood test that requires fasting.
Write this down: your symptoms, when they started, how often do they occur and how long have they continued. Also ask what he thinks about ordering an "A-1-C" blood test.

I drink about 96 oz of water a day and I go like every 20 minutes! I go more in the mornings for some odd reason, may be that I've had less sodium... The more you drink, the more you go.0

You are most likely consuming more water than you need. There are a few diseases that can cause frequent urination, but if you've recently increased your liquid intake and have to go all the time, the likely cause is too much water. If you have replaced things like meat and bread with more fruit and veggies now you are already getting more water from food. Not everyone needs 8 additional glasses of water.0
