I found this article just now while doing some research on whey protein since I just recently started incorporating it into my diet. I found out that I should not be putting the chocolate whey powder into my hot coffee since the heat changes the molecular structure of the protein and it could make me sick. So that was upsetting since putting that in my coffee tastes DELICIOUS... but what was even more startling was this article basically saying that whey is poison and that the government is trying to make us sick. WTF?

Does anyone else know anything about this or think that whey protein might be bad to consume?? The article also mentions other "poisonous" substances/foods some of which i can agree with and others that make me wonder... but either way its interesting.

Any comments?? I don't want to have to give up my whey AND soy....

Simply the header of this article is enough for me to conclude that the author either has an IQ deficiency, or is an alarmist.

I think it looks like a gimmicky crap website... at the end of the Milk section they tell you to drink Soy, then if you look at the soy section it say read this and decide if you want to drink/eat soy...we don't! LOL I think it's just a ridiculous scare tactic to drive concerned dieters crazy.

    uh huh
Whey is a leading ingredient in almost all power/energy/weight control 'candy bars and in powder supplements that athletes, gym bunnies and dieters eat and drink.

No wonder people become obese, sick and diseased, even when trying to be healthy! Most people know sugar is bad, but how many know whey is?!

Bottom line, this is called population control by the Illuminati - Bankers/Government/Corporations - if they can't kill off people via war, they do so via food, drugs, chemtrails and vaccinations.

It doesn't seem properly sourced, and they are trying to sell you a "detox" machine at the end of the page. Further research is needed.

This alone should make you question the motives of the author and the validity of the article.

The entire article including the author is baseless, pointless, ludicrous, and it reeks of ignorance.

Did that about sum it up?

First off never trust a web site that is trying to sell you their product. Second, never take any article as true unless you can verify the information with at least 3 REPUTABLE sources. Third, "everything" is bad for you to some extent. You just have to do some reputable research and figure out what risks you are willing to take. Good Luck!

From the article quoted by OP:
Bottom line, this is called population control by the Illuminati - Bankers/Government/Corporations - if they can't kill off people via war, they do so via food, drugs, chemtrails and vaccinations.

The Illuminati, Chemtrails, and poison vaccine? I guess overheated whey is the least of our worries. ;)

Don't worry OP, the source is thoroughly non-credible.

Damn internet, even the "serious" articles make me laugh. This just in, McDonalds makes you fat and gas is too expensive!! That's some serious research!

Anyone who mentions chemtrails automatically loses all credibility with me.

If you're that worried about what you put into your body, you could always resort to only eating food from local, organic farms. :) Make everything from scratch, etc. Takes out all the guess work. Not saying I would ever do that, but I do try to do things that way whenever possible. lol.

That's it! I'm done! I've had it with Whey! I'm throwing in the towel.

Know what, I read the same thing about other foods....

I'm just going to stop eating. THAT will protect me I'm sure.

Why does the whole article sound like some rant on Coast to Coast? Maybe milk is really the mind-control liquid sent by aliens to prepare us for colonization........... OooOOooOOOooOoooOooOooO

I hate sites like that. They have a product that has no more merit or value than any darned thing else so they have to invent bad press and twisted science to make themselves seem better. Like that dude in high school that put chicks down all the time to make up for his 'short' comings.... really... i mean, really really?

I don't use protein supplements so can't really comment on their safetly, but what country do you live in that the government forces or even recommends whey protein?

did you know on the internet you can find articles that breathing air causes cancer? Or that drinking water can change the molecular level of your cells and you COULD turn into a mermaid....

If you believe every alarmist thing that you read on the internet you will live life looking like this..

    excited.gif

I'd stick to resources a little more accredited and accepted.

In the same article they recommend replacing milk with soy milk, then at the bottom, recommend against consuming soy.

    Think about that a moment.

I drink a scoop of whey protein in my coffee every day. All the heating of protein does is slightly change the structure of the protein, called denaturization. Do you eat cottage cheese? Essentially the same thing, less salt. One the protein goes back to a 'normal' temperature, it normally reverts back to it's normal structure. It's one of the amazing things about protein. Just because something is written on the interwebs, doesn't make it true.

The interesting thing about Whey protein comes down to the minor minor levels of some contaminants they have found in some of them from the process of making them. The health organizations make them list it in reports but they also say the levels are so low it's not something to worry about. We breathe in contaminants every day, That is why our body has filtration systems built in. We are pretty amazing in what we can do.

not going to bother reading the article, however there are some things to consider concerning milk products.

firstly do you have any intolerances to dairy? however from my experience since whey drops most of the lactose this is less of an issue that you would think.

Okay so this is not going to be a rant against dairy at all but it is turning into a rant regarding poison. Everything that goes on the ground or in the water that an animal consumes is going into that animal. Most insecisides and herbacides are fat soluable. That means they stay in the animals system and incorporate into fat. Get enough of it into your dairy animal and consume the creme and yeah you could at the least neutralize the effect of any clensing that you do.

While heating doesn't turn whey into poison (that's like step one of making cheese!) it does destroy a lot of the good stuff that is in milk. If you have a clean reliable source of Raw dairy then you should use it.

Then there's the growth hormones and low dose anti-biotics and the way a lot of larger dairies keep their animals...

Maybe that was the point they were trying to make, I don't know but I've been noticing that the market is starting to shift toward clean dairy, not raw but clean at least. hormone free and antiboitic free. So I see no point in dropping it unless you are sensitive to chemicals and then it might be a consideration.

^ this, sure am glad I don't believe everything I read. However I did find the "If you hate your kids feed them McDonalds" hilarious. Hmm... I don't like children maybe I should start handing out McDonalds to kids.

To the OP, I would not worry about adding whey protein to your coffee it wont kill you. I have been making hot chocolate out of chocolate whey protein, I did a lot of reading on the net about heating up whey protein because some people think it "breaks it down" and it is no longer good for you. I think this is misunderstood, yes it changes the structure but you are still getting the nutrients from it.
