Infrared Saunas

I just started at a new gym that has one and it seems like a relaxing way to end a workout. Does anyone log the calories "burned" in the infrared sauna? They claim it can burn up to 600 calories a session.... I don't really buy that. Has anyone worn a heart rate monitor or something like that while they were in one?

We have one at our gym that I use once a week. I love it, but I don't log it in as calories because for one, it's not in the system, and two, I don't dare wear my HRM in it because I don't know if it can handle the heat. Also, I wanted to mention that I ran once and then used the sauna after and ended up really sick the rest of the day. Now I just do a light workout then go in. I consider it my "rest day".0
