10 pounds gone!!!

I've lost 10.5 pounds in just over 5 weeks (5 weeks and 2 days I think). I've been sick with a cold for the last week and didn't feel like working out, but I'm so pleased to hit this first milestone!
I would like to lose another 5 pounds by Thanksgiving, but I'm not putting pressure on myself. I just need to keep the pace steady.
My pants are loose, I probably can go down a size but I haven't gone shopping yet. I'm trying to hold off as long as possible. My bras are a little loose around the band and I can't tell my face is thinner. I've had two weekends away from home that I managed to stay focused and actually lost weight!!!
My first BIG challenge is coming up in two weeks. I have a business trip to Atlanta that will be all week. I'm used to eating whatever I wanted because I was on an expense account (can you say HELLO ice cream and peanut M&M's in the airport?!?!) I'm already trying to strategize how I can eat better and stay at my calorie limits. But this conference has food around ALL THE TIME!!!! I know I can do it though, it just won't be as fun as my old business trips. LOL

great job so far especially since you haven't been feeling well. Get the "Eat this not that" book, it might help you make better choices when you are away from home. Best of luck!0

Congrats!!! And since this is not a "diet" but a lifestyle change you should work on changing your idea of "fun". Extra food is not always fun....not fun being out of breath, feeling bloated, feeling sleepy, not fitting into clothes, etc.
Find out if your hotel has a work out area and develop a new "fun" tradition while traveling!!! Make a game out of staying within your calories and come up with an AWESOME reward when you succeed and you're back from your trip!!!
You can do it. And HUGE CONGRATS on the 10 lbs gone. That's awesome!!!0 -

I totally agree with this! Last time I went on a trip the elevators were always packed after the conference let out and you had to wait awhile to get one. I had a good time taking the stairs and made a game to see how many stairs I could get in, not just at the hotel and conference center but other places as well. Every 100 stairs = $2.00 of fun when I got home. I had a nice reward when I got home.
The airport was my biggest problem...you can't carry food in with you and are forced to buy inside the gates. Depending on layovers sometimes all you have time for are the quick things to eat. I tried to find places that sold fruit and nuts when I did have to buy something at the airport.
Have fun on your trip!!! Let us know how it goes.0 -
Good for you!!! I can relate on the eating when it's travel money from work. The last time I went on training I ate a piece of cheesecake in my bed in the hotel. How awful is that?!?0
