Hi everyone. This looks like a great site with tons of info. and support. When I just figured out the total calories I'm eating in a day, wow...it looks really difficult to meet that challenge. I must say that I enjoy a glass of red wine each nite, and I cut out taking sugar in my coffee, but have cream instead and as I consume a lot of coffee in a day...wow...does that ever add up. I'm doing a 6 week (2 times a week) bootcamp program and walking when the temperatures here allow. I should be taking in around 1300 calories a day, with a 30 minute walk. Those calories sure add up though, eh?

Well good luck to everyone working at getting fitter and healthier! I also quit smoking 5 years ago, almost 6 and best decision I ever made.

    make sure you eat your exercise calories from the bootcamp you are in. Cuz I'm with you about having a glass or two of red wine each night.

    Have you tried substituting milk in for cream? I drink my coffee with just milk. It took some getting use to but now I love it and could never go back to cream. Anyways, just a suggestion ... Good Luck :wink:

    I just joined last Monday... I LOVE this site! I also quit smoking. It'll be three weeks tomorrow. I still want one (even now, writing about it....yummy!), but I'm doing good. FEEL good! I'm so excited to be making all these changes! Concrats on comming on board! :flowerforyou:

    If it helps, I would sign on to no food plan that didn't allow a nightly glass or two of red wine. :tongue: You'll be able to shape up and keep those things you love at the same time!

    Hi Redneck Deb! I'm new too.

    So far, this site has been awesome! I love it! It's easy to use and it's amazing to see how many calories are in everything I eat....or used to eat. I was amazed to see that a Venti White Chocolate mocha from Starbucks had over 550 calories!!!!! :noway: Needless to say, my relationship with Starbucks has fizzled. Now it's regular coffee with splenda. Woot!!

    Good luck on your weight loss too!!!! And welcome! :smile:

    Welcome Deb! Sounds like you got the exercise down! That was hard for me and happy hour:laugh: :laugh: All in moderation I guess............or so I'm learning! Everyone here are extremely motivational and super supportive, regardless of topic. :drinker:
