How many calories burned?! Help!

Options
So my HRM is telling me that based on my heart rate I burned 2000 calories in 90 minutes of exercise last night. All the calculators online say that even at a average of 170 bpm I'd only burn about 1400 calories. Whenever I looked at my HRM it was anywhere between 160 and 180 so I know it was reading my heart rate correctly.

I don't want to think that I'm working harder than I am.... but I also want to congratulate myself for doing a good job if I really did burn 2000 calories.

The question is, should I trust how my HRM calculates calories burned? It takes in account my age, sex, weight, and resting heart rate.

My personal opinion is that if youre eating them back...go with the lower number. Just to be safe and make sure you arent taking in extra calories. I think that you know how hard you worked and the number of calories shouldnt make you more or less proud of yourself!! And find something other then food to congratulate yourself with!!
