Cardio ideas??

Does anyone have ideas of any cardio I can do with my injuries? I have a fractured shouldered on my upper body and achilles tendonitis in both of my legs. I am 5 weeks into my recovery for my shoulder. I go to the docs tomorrow for another xray to see how it is healing. His first impression 5 weeks ago is that it won't be completely healed for 3-4 months.

However, I was able to continue running with a very tight shoulder harness, but my achilles tendonitis has become unbearable again. I have had it on and off for the past 4 months. I had to pull out of a half marathon and a marathon this Fall. I spent $2000 on physical therapy with no real improvement. So, I have kind of given up on running. I do a lot of walking for a living because I am a dog walker/pet sitter. I have had to cut a lot of that and delegate my jobs after my shoulder injury. However, I still walk about 2 miles per day. I used to be a long distance runner, often running up to 40 miles per week, so walking is just not enough for me.

My biggest problem is that my body and mind was so used to eating as an endurance athlete that I started gaining back weight so fast! I need to find some cardio and fast!!!!

Any ideas would be helpful!

Water aerobics is probably going to be the best thing you can do.

I agree with Swhitney2. Try very light work and if you feel pain stop it. Better to have a full recovery and start again then force it and worsen your injuries.

    Here's to a speedy recovery.
