Have you seen all the tips for how to change your diet in little ways that over time can lead to weight loss? You know, don't use cream but sub non-fat milk in your coffee etc?
Today it dawned on me that the same thing is true for activity levels - I be there must be 100's of thing that I could do everyday to to increase my activity level and help get me fit.
For example:
- stand on one leg when I brush my teeth
- Do deep knee bends while I bruch my teeth
- Lose the remote!
- Park as far away as possible
- Take the stairs
- Twist and turn in my chair at work
- Walk really fat - everytime I just walk around
- Butt squeeze at my desk
Having a fun day - avoiding halloween candy which is still stashed everywhere!

How about put on music and dance while you do the dishes?0 -
I have incorporated small things into my day as far as exercise. I bought a digital pedometer and that has truly been a motivator for me. I do park far away and I hope I still do that when winter hits us hard. I take the long way to the bathroom. I get quite a few steps in that way because if I drink what I am supposed to be drinking I am constantly walking to the bathroom. I have an office that is off the beaten path and if a Michael Jackson song comes on the radio, I get up and dance or do arm exercises. Having a faster-paced walk also helps. If we just start with plain ol' movement that's a good start. I have no problem at all getting to the 10,000 steps per day. I do wish though that my friends would get the darned halloween candy out of their offices!
Keep moving. :laugh:0 -
Oh yeah!
- counter push ups in the bathroom
- push ups before bed
- crunches before going to sleep and when you wake up
- releves when talking on the phone
And my favorite . . . lots of sex!0
