Hey!

So this is my new fave snack...but the sodium just kills it! ANy ideas out there for lower sodium turkey- deli style. The one i am eating now has 460 mg for 2 slices...I like chicken breast too...

I hope something exists out there!!!

Roast a turkey and slice it. That will cut sodium down to almost nothing.
  • i cook my own then slice it. that might help if you tried it?

The turkey by Applegate Farms may be a bit lower in sodium. They make relatively "cleaner" deli meats.

I go to the deli and get Sara Lee Low Sodium Oven Roasted turkey and chicken breast. Obviously not the lowest sodium thing still, but it is better than other lunch meats in packages.

Not true. Colombus brand low sodium turkey breast. I find it at Trader Joe's myself. 240mg sodium per 2 oz.

    A novel idea!

If it's more than you will eat at any time soon, freeze it.

Also, will likely be cheaper this way, than buying the precooked stuff.

    Does require effort though.

I'll let you make that call.

    Good day.

Trader Joe's also has their own sliced turkey meat that's all natural and delicious!

Hubby and i just bought our first bird to do this :) we'll be cooking it then freezing it. REAL turkey without all the additives are so much better anyway!

I love the Columbus low sodium turkey from TJ's!!! It's yummy; doesn't taste any different from the regular stuff. Their roast beef is also pretty low; I think it's about 180mg per 2oz.
