Warrior dash??

I'm thinking about trying the Warrior Dash next year. I can't run 3 miles (yet). But it looks like fun. And I have plenty of time to train. Would love to hear from those who have done it. How hard is it? Does it matter if I'm not very fast (I don't expect to be good at it I just want to get through it.)
Also, would love to hear from anyone planning on doing the Dash in Indiana.
Thanks!

It's WAY more mental than physical. If you think (KNOW) you can do it, you can do it.
Also, it's a friggin blast.0 -

I have always wanted to do one--but I can't run 3 miles either. Maybe not even one at this point; I haven't tried in a while. When is the one in IN?0

I have seen some pretty out of shape folks walk it...you will have no issues!0

You don't have to be able to run at all, honestly. It is as hard and as fulfilling and fun as you make it. I've seen people run it at top speed, and other trod along for HOURS to finish at their own pace.
You make it whatever kind of race you want it to be! Either way, it's one hell of a good time! :bigsmile:0 -
Just saw a preview and looks AWWWEEESSOOOMMEEEE!!!!!!!!!! Looks fun, challenging and overall craazzzyyyyy!!!! Would love to do it someday!!!0

It was one of my most favorite races I ever did!!! The hardest part for me was the run up the mountain, but I loved every minute of it!!!!0

Babe, I did it in OK in September. And that was at 270 lbs. I finishes in the bottom 100 out of 7500. And it was the funnest, most awesome thing I have ever accomplished! I did not run, I walked the whole thing. You do not need to be able to run 5K. The longest stretches between obstacles is seldom more than a mile, so concentrate on the short runs if you want to try and run any of it.
Most of all, get some friends together and just have fun. Crawling through mud and jumping over fire....what's not to love??!!0 -
A group of firends and I are doing the Central Texas one in a couple weeks. SO excited. ANd there are several different start times with large groups at each start time so its not like you will get to then end and be the very last one even if you take a long time. I am in better shape now than iever have been, bu that still isnt saying much! Will let you knwo how it goes!0
