So hello everyone! I'm a newbie to the site. I've been playing around here and using the food diary for a few days...and I LOVE it!
I started a plan during Christmas break, but I was writing everything down, having to research to find calories, and it was begining to get tiresome. Then I "tripped" on MFP, and I love it. It's so easy to use and such a motivator to realize that if I continue what I will weigh.
Total I have over 100 lbs to lose, but I'm setting my goal for 90 lbs in '09. I got this from the lead singer of Big Daddy Weave! ;0)
I'm looking forward to getting to watch other's succeed and to be able to share my own successes, too! Also, hoping to find some "buddies" to share all of this with. (my size 2 coworkers, just don't understand it all ;0)

Me too and I am still trying to learn this site. It sure does seem to be very friendly and ver very motivating to keep on goin. My biggest problem is after sundown. We don;t keep much of frozzen foods at home. But we are big on pasta, rice bread pretty much all carbs. How do you stay within the daily Cal?? Please HELP

It sounds a little OCD, but I'm so serious about losing this weight this time, so I get me some fruits and veggies for snacks put aside in little premeasured containers and keep them handy. That way if someone pulls out something to eat after dinner I just run to my stash. I also really like edamame...so I steam a serving of those.
My biggest thing about the evening is that for so long TV time meant snacks on the couch. I starting making myself ONLY eat at the kitchen table or the kitchen counter. It has taken about 21 days, but now when I get in my comfy place on the couch and start watching tv I don't miss the snacks. (and very rarely have to go eat my fruit or veggie either) It was sortof like my mind wanted the snacks because of the good memories from the last time, but my stomach didn't need them.
We have also started doing more things in the evenings...reading, taking a walk, playing a board game, etc. So I haven't been bored. Boredom is a big one for me too....boredom = over snacking
Best of luck...I know that we can all do this. This year is going to be amazing!!!0 -
I am a serial snacker too. Well I WAS, i'm trying my hardest not to now. It can be diffiult when hubby is sat munching yummys right beside you though
GOOD LUCK!! I'm sure you will reach your goal in no time!!0 -
