A few of my friends have decided to participate in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) this year, so I decided I would, too. For those of you who know nothing about it, the goal is to write a 50,000 word novel by writing an average of 1667 words every day of November. (nanowrimo.org)

ANYWAYS, I've been plugging away at this craptastic novel the past few days, until tonight. I hadn't written anything all day, because I'd been productive all day and worked out twice (Beach Body's Brazil Butt Lift, plus a casual walk with my mom later). And about half an hour ago, when I sat down to my computer to write the obligatory 1600 words, I realized that the thought of sitting at my computer for two (or more) hours was absolutely unappealing to me. I'd rather be DOING something.

And this is coming from the girl who, just a few WEEKS ago, had absolutely no problem sitting at her computer for HOURS on end doing absolutely NOTHING of importance.

Needless to say, I was proud of myself. (And I'll be getting off the computer as soon as this forum post is done. ;) )

It IS an NSV! Good for you....

Great NSV! I'm actually participating in NaNo myself this year for the second time. I'm sitting at 5401 words, but at least half of those words have been coming from snippets and notes that I write on my breaks at work, so I'm not in front of the computer for near as long as I would otherwise. Just carry a notebook around with you (doesn't have to be full sized.. a pocket-sized one would do) and when you get an idea or a specific line in your head, jot it down. Keep the story going without spending all of your time on your butt in front of a computer. You can DO it!!! :D
