Will doing 30DS slow my weight loss?

Ive just started doing 30DS but am reading people say that you don't lose much weight on it but youre more likely to build muscle.
Simply put I want to build muscle but not at the expense of not losing kg on the scale. Yes I know inches are a better indicator but I currently weigh 118kg/261lbs. I don't need more weight, even if it's muscle.
Can people give their experiences? Or is it worth me waiting till I've dropped a bit more before doing it?

You will NOT gain weight at all. I lost weight on it, it will build some muscle but not enough to really hinder your weight loss From your profile picture it appears that 30DS shouldn't affect you too much in the building muscle aspect.
P.S. When you do any strength training type of workout, your initial loss will not be significant (possibly may be a gain) due to water in your muscles. This will help your muscles heal and within a week or so of completing the training that water will generally leave you weighing less! 30DS will be a month of it... so you could still be seeing weight loss results from it up to a week or two after you finished it!0 -
I just started 30DS a few days ago. I am currently on day 4 and have lost 2 kilos/4 pounds already. From the people I've talked to - the results very. Some people lose 10 - 15 pounds and some just lose 3 - 5 (and then of course anywhere in between). However, no matter what the outcome, you will definitely lose some inches and gain a ton of endurance. I haven't heard of people gaining muscle weight though. I would highly recommend it. Even after 4 days, I feel great! Definitely worth it!0

I think you should try it. One of my MFP buddies did it and she had great results. She did add in some extra cardio though. Search for post that show 30DS before and after picks. You may like what you see. Adding muscle is supposed to raise your metabolism and you'll burn more calories at rest plus it gives your body a nice shape.0

I went thru 30DS and liked it for the most part. My weight loss was fairly significant in the first week (2lbs), didn't lose any the 2nd week, but lost inches and could see the difference in my strength and energy levels. Then the 3rd week I lost 3lbs. So, in my experience, it might slow your wieght lose momentarily, but you will probably make up for it in the end if you go all the way thru the program. Good Luck!0
