Hello everyone!
I could use some help please. I have 24 of Leslie's DVDs I LOVE them. But I cannot for the life of me figure out how to turn them into calories to count as exercise. Today for instance I did the Walk Slim Fast Firming. It is 24 minutes long and very little walking mostly the Stretchie band. Does working your muscles not count? Only the warm up was walking and I can't even say it was brisk. However this workout is way better than the 3 fast paced miles with the Stretchie. Am I clear as mud here? LOL
No one sees what I put it but it matters to me. Plus I am breastfeeding and I want to be sure I am doing the right calorie intake. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
Thanks in advance,
Noelle:drinker:

  • I've always just counted her workouts as low-impact aerobics. (but I always lower the defult ammount of calories burned for any exercise, since it's just an estimate)

I typically log it as regular walking at a fast pace...I forget which pace yields the most accurate calorie count, but I think Jeannie (arewethereyet) will know (I use a HRM so I don't remember which one I used to use)...so I'll send her to this post so she can fill you in...as far as the stretchie band though, it probably burns very few calories (but it's building muscle so it will burn more calories for you in the long run)...maybe put it in as strength training since that particular DVD is predominantly the resistance band?

    Thanks Livi,
How do you lower the default amount?

    WOW 69 POUNDS!!
    Way to go Laura!
I want to be you in a few months Well 7 months I guess. LOL
What's an HRM? Thanks for pointing Jeannie to my post I sure appreciate it.
Where i get confused is when I am doing the 4 or 5 mile DVD and throwing in the bands or weights does that burn more calories? Or no just builds more muscle? I requested this info. from Leslie's site but didn't hear back.
    Thanks for your help!

When I did 55 minutes full force on the Walk 4 Fast Miles I burned 356. As you know this one adds arms for a great deal of the time. (I was wearing my HRM)

It was pretty close to the same cals for 4.0 mile.

If I am doing strengthening, I put is up as that.

    For instance:

    10 mins mild stretch
    10 min strength training

I hope this helps but if you want to talk more, PM me and we can figure it out together!

    Yes it really does work.
    does this work

Has anyone tried the five mile? Is it like the 4 mile? I have the 4 mile super challenge and don't care for it that much because of the bad transitions.
