Hashimoto's Christmas challenge!

Options
Well, I'm in, in a lot of challenges although I know I cannot win because of my Hashimoto.
So I've thought that maybe we (everyone who has hashimoto too) need our own challenge.

So I say that starting next Friday at 11 of November and our purpose is to loose the 2% of our weight until 23 of December.
Who is in?

I'm in!!! I haven't really introduced myself here. I am 28 years old, mother of 2 and wife of 7.5 years. I was 255 when I was diagnosed with Hashis in December of 2009. I am now down to 200...but got all the way down to 187. I cannot find a dose that helps me or stays steady since I lost the weight, my numbers bounce everywhere.

I am really really working hard now. We will see. I also have RA, which is putting a damper on things, but I am trying to live in a no excuses world!!! I need to take care of myself so I can be around to see my girls go up.

I have no doubt that there are more members with Hashimoto that needs some motivation with a challenge specially for them!

I've had hypothyroidism for years but was just diagnosed with Hashimoto's this past week. I'll join, but am not too sure I can make the 2%. But, I'll do my bestest!!

I'm in! I was diagnosed with Hashi's winter of 2010 and I have just now been "leveled out" at least for now! I went to a metabolic disease specialist that told me the Hashi's and weight gain had cause damage to my pancreas. She said I wasn't in trouble yet but that I should try to take care of it before I had an issue. My goal was to lose 30 lbs by January 25th. I began my weight loss challenge on 10/19 with a weight of 257 lbs. On 11/09 I weighed myself and found that I had lost 10lbs!!! I Zumba 4x's a week, walk for 15 minutes at a brisk pace every lunch break rain or shine (I keep a poncho in my car). I am eating 1350 calories or less per day and trying to stay under 100 carbs per day but never over 45 for any meal. Good luck fellow Hashi challengers! I know we can do this!

    Welcome with us Kacie...!!!
    My news...
I went to a second endocrinologist yesterday. She said that when TSH is increased your body makes water retention. Although if your other hormones (T4 and T3) are increased your muscles and bones are destroyed and not the fat.
She increased the dosage of my medication and said that I'll see results in about two to three months.

I'll send you the link of our spread sheet!

(I know, we are just 4 members... but I don't care!!)
Today is the login day, don't forget!!

Thanks, charm_quark! One thing I noticed that I had trouble staying under for my goals was the sodium! It sneaks into every food that is "fast" I read that that also could cause water retention! My goal for this week is no "fast" food (even without the bun and making low carb choices that sodium is sneaking in) and I will try to pack my lunch everyday! I missed my afternoon walk today after lunch due to a meeting, I'll have to run up and down my stairs tonight! Good luck everyone! :) Thank you for such a wonderful group!
