Hello all - new to this forum, joined because the app is on my phone, nice and convenient!

I'm not really "dieting" per se - I am recently pregnant and really need to start paying more attention to
what I am eating so the application is great for me to track that... and it will be great for after
when I know I will have a ton of weight to lose!

Good luck everyone!

  • Welcome! I think it's a great idea to track food during pregnancy, and as a bonus you can keep an eye on other nutrients like your calcium and iron on this site. :) Maybe you'll be one of those few ladies who actually gains the recommended 25 pounds and doesn't have a ton to lose later - unlike me who now has 40 pounds to lose after 3 kids!!

Feel free to add me as a friend.
  • Welcome! I think it's great that you want to eat healthy while pregnant, and I predict if you stick with it, you won't have "a ton of weight to lose" after you have the baby... maybe just a half a ton, or a quarter of a ton. ; )

Pregnancy only adds like 100 calories to your daily needs unless you're having twins. Keep exercising (whatever you're comfortable with) and up your protein. Your protein needs to be close to the 80-100 grams range. Nursing is a different story.

Actually, I believe for pregnancy you are supposed to add 300 calories a day, not 100. Anyways, welcome! I wish I would have done the same while pregnant. I ate whatever and whenever I wanted, and gained 80 pounds! It is much harder to take off than it was to put on!! Have a happy and healthy pregnancy!
