I have not used one, but there is nothing that makes me think they would be any better than getting some dumbells. Save your money and get real weights.
Lots of reviews online, most not that positive here is one http://www.brinkzone.com/general-fitness-info/the-shake-weight-review/ and here is another http://www.wired.com/reviews/2010/08/pr_shake_weight/0 -
Is it the Shake Weight you are talking about?
Of all things my mother wanted for Christmas, she said she wanted a Shake Weight.
So I went and bought her one for her gift.
I have to say... I thought it shook by itself and you just held it!! No... you shake it yourself. It was so silly. And its only made of plastic.
Just buy a rubber covered 3 or 5lb weight and you'd be much better off, imo.0 -
Are you talking about the shake weight? I have one and used it when i first started and was extremely overweight. You can feel it and it did get me going, but dumbells will do the same thing....and you can use them for so much more...i agree, invest in some hand weights instead.0

I actually saw a segment on my news channel...and they were rating which workout tools worked and which didnt,
they said the shakers dont work, also the one thing you kneel on and swing in a half circle, (forgot the name) that didnt work either. If anything at all, you are moving while you do it, so thats prob the good thing about them. I think you can do the same thing with a can of fruit or can of veggies...seriously
I dont think anyone needs any of those gadgets, unless they like throwing money away..Just keep moving, and you will burn. Flex every muscle you have and repeat repeat repeat, I KNOW that works...Good Luck!! and Keep Moving! JMHO, but with me its tried and true...the only machine I would buy would be a treadmill, for bad weather days.0
