5 weeks on my weight loss journey/ a breastfeeding mother

hi im 5 weeks into my weightloss journey, some things i have been doing is eating a lot of healthy carbs like whole grain bread, spaghetti, and rice. i eat bananas and apples all the time not much other fruit, also the only vegetable i tend to enjoy is broccoli, my snack is generaly banana nut crunch cereal i could eat a box a day, i love eating red potatoes and whole wheat waffles too, i drink only water and stay away from soda and juice. im not a meat eater at all but i do have ground turkey in my whole wheat spaghetti, ive also cut out fat i generally buy things that say fat free, oh and i enjoy eating almonds and walnuts for snacks too i started exercising and i enjoy it, any pointers for me? am i off to a good start? some questions I have are what exactly is processed and or refined foods? how do i get the best protein since i dont like much meat? is canned grilled chicken breast bad for you as oppose to like the cut up grilled chicken breast in the baggie?
