The family and I went apple picking a few days ago..We have empire/gala/ida red apples. I need some yummy low cal recipes to use these up! I've already made the Cinnamon Apple Crisp recipe from Skinnytaste.com and it is YUMMMY!! :)

I like to put diced apples in a garden salad and then have with a raspberry vinaigrette.

Or I will add diced apples to chicken salad sandwiches with spicy mustard.

Or I will bake diced apples wrapped in chicken with feta cheese.

Those are just some ideas off the top of my head.

I heard of a recipe where you slice apples, dip in pancake batter, and put them in a frying pan. Would be great with cinnamon and a low cal maple syrup!

I usually just cut them up and put a little low fat butter, cinnamon and a dab of brown sugar on them. Then, cook them in the microwave for about 5-8 minutes. I like mine tender, but not mushy. Enjoy :) It makes a great side dish or desert for over low cal biscuits.

And then use the applesauce to replace some of the fat or sugar in other recipes.

I love apples...particularly honeycrisp (juicy, crisp, nice balance of tart and sweet). Cripps Pink are really good too. We slice them and dehydrate them. I'm fairly early in my weight loss goals (began working out a couple months back but have just recently started working on improving my eating habits). The dehydrated apple chips give me something crispy to munch on when I have a craving for chips.

Peel and cut them. Freeze on a cookie sheet and bag after frozen. Use them all winter.
