I use the arc trainer (cybex) at the gym. MFP doesnt have it listed when I search the track exercise page. I have been just putting elipitcal as the exercise, but I feel I get a much better workout than on an elipitcal. I love putting the stepping height up on 20!!

I hear you. I do a fairly intense interval-set on the arc trainer and just putting in, '70 minutes, elliptical trainer' doesn't accurately assess my fitness activity. However .. this is just a website. you know how hard you're working and whether your fitness is improving.0

I log it as an elliptical too, but I think I'm burning more calories. I am OBSESSED with the Arc!0

I have noticed a difference in my butt and legs since I upped the height and tension level. I havent tried the set programs on it yet. Which programs do you use?0

i couldn't find what the calorie count was for this machine either. It's a great machine to workout on, I feel it when I am done on my whole body. Adding a higher incline gives you an even better workout..I also log it as Elliptical..0

I LOVE THE ARC!!!!!!!!!
I usually do interval or manual and love putting the incline and resistance in the 20s.
I usually burn around 350 to 400 cals in 30 minutes per my HRM. The machine is usually too high by 100 cals or so.0 -
I LOVE the arc trainer! The ones at my gym have a 'calories burned' estimate, so I added a new exercise to my diary, named it arc trainer, and used those numbers for my calories.0

I added a new exercise called "cybex arc trainer" and enter the calories I burn based off the machine. It is a much better work out than the elliptical....
Word to the wise wait for it to come to a complete stop before trying to step off. I didn't and I had the foot platform hit me in the ankle and I have a massively large and sore bruise for my stupidity!0 -
wamaverick...I had a friend warn me of that , thankfully, before I got on or I would have done the same thing!! How do you add an exercise to your diary? didnt know you could do that. I wear a polar so I have a really good estimate of my caloies burned.0

I burn around 85-90 cal per 10 minutes on the ARC. I enter my age/weight into the machine and do intervals of 4/8 (I started using it because of doctor orders to do low impact due to a large hematoma on my thigh from a fall so I push myself but don't over exert for now).
For me that's a little more than an elliptical (which I used to push myself a lot harder on) and less than running (which is about 100 cal per mile burn for me).
And that's all by my HRM. The ARC machine typically tells me I've burned 200-250 more than my HRM says. So I don't trust the machine at all. I just entered a new exercise for myself called ARC Trainer and put whatever my HRM burn says in there each time.0
