SO my mom is upset at me

She is upset because my sister's mil saw my picture in the local military paper for getting an award and she was upset that I didn't tell anyone. I told her that it was my 4th award and that it just didn't seem important but then I corrected myself and told her I was sorry for not telling the family because I keep forgetting its kind of a big deal to civilians you know....

I have been there and done that one Just say your sorry and try not to do it again... that is what I do

(But seriously, I would understand 'irked' but outright upset??)

Sorry but I'm gonna have to take your Mom's side on this one. I think I'd be upset too. Things like that are important to Mom no matter how many awards you've had. Apologize and give her a big hug when you see again. And don't forget to inform Mom next time no matter how insignificant it may seem to you. :flowerforyou:

I received what we call a Navy and Marine Corps achievement medal its my fourth one. I know I didn't know it would hurt her like that.

I am in no shape or form saying she was wrong I love her to death and would never dream of hurting her feelings

Well at least you apologized, but if i was a mother i would want to celebrate the awarded with you, so i could understand the anger. Kinda like my oldest brother getting married in Vegas and no one new about it in our family.
