Okay so I only get the chance to do food shopping once a fortnight.

Give me as many healthy foods/drinks you can list so I can make my shopping list up! Preferably things you'd have on a regular basis (ie, chicken, chickpeas ect) :)

Thanks! I have heard of it before, I just wasn't sure what it meant.

If they're available (super short season), I'd substitute the Fuji apples for Honeycrisps. They'll make you yearn for October/November.

    mmmmmmmmmmmmm......Honeycrisp......

museli (you can make it your own too)
broccoli (we eat it here by the bucket load)
    ham
    oats
    apples
    oranges
    banana's
wholemeal bread (we don't eat a huge amount of bread, so I freeze it and just defrost when I need it).
    brown rice
chickpeas (i don't buy them in a tin, but the loose ones and then do them up myself)
    tomatoe
    lettuces

you may want to consider getting some fridge keepers from tupperware, yes they are expensive, but they do keep your fruit and veggies longer, so less wastage.

Assuming that my cabinets are completely bare, here's what I usually get when I'm back in the states:

    Tempeh
    Chickpeas
    Broccoli
    Avocados
    Canned tomatoes
    Kale
    Romaine lettuce
    Bell peppers
    Fresh/frozen fruits
    Brown rice
    Canned pumpkin
    Sweet potatoes
    Salad veggies
    Tofu
Dried beans (so much cheaper than canned!)
    Soy or almond milk
    Almond butter
    Onions
Some dried fruit (not too much, I can't be trusted)
    A variety of salsas
