Need help with winter running gear

I need help to figure out what I can wear while running in 30ish degree weather that will keep me warm until I warm up, but not make me too hot part way in. My face gets really cold and I know my normal long sleeve shirts aren't working well. I have seen lots of wicking fabric shirts, etc., but I have no idea if they will keep me warm when it gets below 30 (which is does on occasion). And my hands get cold but when I wear normal knit gloves they get too hot about 15 min in.
I use 180s ear warmers and a light knit hat which seems to work ok,
