A bottle of Red and a stinking chinese last night and now its back to business of fat burning!. Gotta have a blow out once a week or it becomes so so hard and mundane to concentrate and stick with the diet. I scientific study showed that a group people who over indulged at Christmas time then exercised the next day on an empty stomach did not gain weight. The people who had a breakfast then exercised showed a steady increase in weight!. This is NOT a green light to live and eat junk as its an unhealthy way to live but if you have a blowout now and then you have a bit of a get off.

Am i the only one who blows out once a week???. I also read somewhere that this can also have an affect on the body by shocking the body into thinking there is an abundance of calories so it does not have to hold on so much to other calories/fat within the body and can cause a slight drop in weight!. Anybody else had this experience?. I think we are always having to trick and shock the body. Thoughts please!

I have one "free" day a week.
This means, I like to do very good with my diet 6/7 days, and eat what I want the last day.
I do, of course excersize before I go to bed after I eat my heaviest meal.
But I think it's healthy if you only do it once a week.

I might be wrong though! :grumble:
  • Sorry its posted twice for some reason lol!. Never mind!
  • I used to do this with drinking once a week. But now, I just have a cheat night if I go out to eat or decide to go drink... which is not very often
  • I'll stick with my plan for the moment with one free day as the weight is still coming off. When it stops i'll change my plan. Time for a run i think!........ (on empty of course)

Inevitably I will drink quite a lot at the weekend, but I also have a lot more time to exercise too, so it's swings and roundabouts.

I eat more or less the same throughout the week... I don't believe in having so-called cheat days... but to some my food diary would seem like a week-long of cheat days as I eat more or less what I want to eat and have only made small, yet very significant changes such as cutting down on bread and pasta as well as chocolates and sweets. although it's cutting down, not cutting out!

Ryvitas are my best friends and I have a very Dutch/Scandinavian diet of smoked salmon and dairy mixed in with typical British fare in the evenings thanks to my hubster who does a lot of the cooking and he just loves his meat and two veg

I've been losing quite consistently over the past 3 months weeks and have even had the odd celebration (including my friends' wedding which I didn't hold back on food and drink and even a stag-night curry too) and have had just one week where I stayed at the same weight.

Different strokes for different folks, but I've found a fun and sustainable way to lose weight, get fit and enjoy life to the max!

I have a 'relaxed' day too, usually the same day as I weigh, which is Friday. I still watch what I eat, as it would be so easy for me to slip back into my old ways, but I am much more relaxed about it - if I fancy a bar of chocolate, I'll have it. I do still log it though LOL

It's working for me; if it stops working then I'll have to have a major rethink, I'm aware of what I'm eating but I don't feel the need to feel guilty.
  • A step in the right direction is usually all thats required for a good start.

This is a good idea. Do what works for you. I think under eating is much more dangerous than over eating, but if you are able to still lose weight and if you don't get dizzy when you skip breakfast, then by all means, do what makes you happy.

Personally, I get rather sick feeling if I skip a meal or work out without food. Your plan might not work for me, but it sounds like you're doing ok with it.

i absoltuely can not work out on an empty stomach, im hypoglycemic and would crash! But i do try to chill out with my eating once a week. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesnt.
  • Yes i get the shakes sometimes but always carry a couple of gels just in case. And if feeling shaky after training always have a recovery shake afterwards and usually 40-60grams of cerial within an hour of the recov shake. Its all good and working well. 99kgs for the moment. Been talking to the coach and we have decided i Just need to get down to 95kgs. Not much work left then just the maintenance phase. Probably the most difficult part.
