Hi Everyone,

I was thinking of taking cous cous to work with me for lunches.

If I were to cook it - what would the best way to cool it down? Also how long would it last?

It's great room temp. otherwise depending on the amount 1/2minute to 1minute. It's great with chopped up olives, tomatoes and fresh basil, salt and pepper and if you like some crumbled feta cheese.

Cous Cous is amazing, I find it fills me well and you can make it taste great.

Personally what I do is I use 1 and a quater cups of water with a pinch of salt, put it on the heat and as soon as it starts to boil I turn the heat off and add 1 cup of Cous Cous and stir it well straight away and put the lid on the pan.

I come back 5 minutes later and fluff up the cous cous and transfer it all to a tupperware container.

The most I have let it sit for (And it was still good) was 5 days in a sealed tupperware container but I imagine it would last longer providing it is sealed and in the fridge :)

I have spicy couscous at room temperature on a bed of lettuce with diced cucumber and cherry tomatoes halved with a drizzle of sweet chilli dip. Its a lovely quick easy and light meal or lunch

It depends what type of Cous-cous you're making. I lived in North Africa and they didn't have any of the instant kind so they essentially steamed it over a pot of boiling sauce, vegetables, and meat; taking around 2hrs. If it's one of the instant ready kind, it's basically just re hydrating it for like 15/20 mins.
