I joined MFP in September but haven't really started until RIGHT NOW. I have to do this. I am at my highest weight ever and I feel like crap. I look forward to posting and reading in the forum and getting healthier on this journey.

My name is Tana and I am 43. I am a Mom of a little boy and a senior kitty. I am a wife and a nurse by profession. I live in NY where it will soon get cold. But that will not deter me for walking!

    Hello Tana
Take it nice and easy to begin - I am from MInnesota where fall has truly set in and the cold is just around the corner (we have had a few nights below freezing already). I too am at my highest weight since giving birth. I have two girls, now 18 and 20 and have no excuse for the shape that I am in. Good luck and dont give up trying!

Hey Tana, the important thing is you have decided to make this change. Keep in mind that you didn't put the weight on overnight and it is not going to come off overnight. Slow and steady wins the race. We are all human and have our ups and downs. When you falter, don't wait to jump back on the wagon, do it immediately. Give yourself permission to be human and you will do fine. Expect perfection all the time and you will not be successful. Add me if you want. I am 46 and have 3 boys. I know your struggle. I am there plus some.....

I think you have reached rock bottom. I did after I had my 2 kids back to back and I had gained about 3 stone (14stone at my highest). I hated the way I looked and felt and thought about my weight every second of every day.

Now I'm down to nearly 11+half stone and LOVE the new sexy me.

You can do it once you really really want it. This site is great for support and ideas. Good luck!!!
