You know those like food charts / food triangle things. Where vegetables is a massive green section across the bottom, and chocolate is the tiny point at the top of the triangle..

What section does soup fit into?
Or does it just depend on what flavour soup your having? For example tomato is in the vegetable section, but oxtail is in the meat, poultry and fish section?

Example of the food triangle thing i mean ->>..

Depends. If you have a bowl of split pea soup without ham, it's primarily in the veggi section. If it has ham, it spreads across the meat and veggi section, then, if you have beef stew with barley or soupmac, it goes across the grain section too....

It depends on what is in your soup. You would probably go along with what the main ingredient is... is it mostly vegetable, protein (meat, beans..) , carbs (pasta, rice..), or is it more of a broth? Some soups would fit into multiple categories or even all of them.

depends on the soup, but it's a mix. Some soup may have something from almost ever category in it. There can be meat, vegetables, fats (cream based broths), grains (rice or noodles).
