Help! I have been back on the wagon for three weeks. The first two weeks went great and lost 8lbs. Ate 1200 cals and didn't go over. Still, I felt satisfied and had no cravings, etc. I weighed in my third week and didn't make any progress. I upped my cals to 1350 and increased my excercise to five x per week and now I am hungry ALL THE TIME. I am also craving carbs (sweets) and cheese, bread, etc.
What gives?!:explode:

I read about the body having a "set point" and that it uses hormones to trigger hunger and cravings to get back to its set point (the weight it has been on for a while.) The article also mentions that when you lose weight, if you lose too fast, it triggers this and that this is why many people gaing the weight back. However, if this is overcome, your body adjusts to its new set point and the hunger and cravings go away. Has anyone experienced this? If so, how did you deal with it? I just ate a good lunch (310 cals, incl. rice and beans and some cheese) and I am still hungry!!:frown:

Yes i have exprcd it.. but i don't have an explanaiton for it.. it must be with the hormones, instabillity /changes.. .. i don't know what it is but .. i have days/weeks where i'm not hungry.. and than some days where i could eat a grocerie store.. :grumble:

we just have to find a way to deal with it, during those days looking for " less damage " - less calories, . maybe increase exercise.. drink more water- or try to sleep more. it could be " exhaustion " and our bodies confuse the msg of " lack of sleep ' with the " hunger " msg.... i heared that on a Weight watchers meeting..
  • Are you drinking enough water? If you are dehydrated that will mimic hunger.

You know, I haven't been drinking as much water as I should. Thanks for the tip. I am going out to the store now to get some green tea. I think this will help (can't stand flavorless taste).
