(Sorry about the abbreviations.) No More Trouble Zones vs. Banish Fat Boost Metabolism

I recently brought her Ripped in 30 dvd. While I do like it, I don't LOVE it. I brought so i'll workout to it but it's not my fav. It doesn't compare to 30DS like I had hoped. Sure it follows the 3-2-1 order, but It more about toning and getting ripped. I am not sure I am ready for that part. Shred felt like it was more cardio to me. I guess also I am used to loosing an inch or a half a week(off waist) I havent lost none since I started. I start week 2 tmrw.

between No More Trouble Zones and Banish Fat Boost Metabolism which one did you have most sucess with. I was planning on doing NMTZ next, but now I'm not sure becaue I've heard BFBM has nothing but cardio.

Normally cardio workouts result in lost of inches.

I did 30DS and I enjoyed it. I lost 8lbs and 7.5 inches on it.

Then I did/am doing NMTZ. Wow. Way harder. Way more weight work. My arms were dead, my legs wobbled going down the stairs. I now separate the circuits into two days. Its 40 minutes long and it was killer. I still can't do it every day. I only do it two days a week.

So thats my opinion of NMTZ. If you want cardio, it is not cardio. Its a lot of weight circuits. It's killer and I love it :)

    Haven't done BFBM.

I will be doing Ripped in 30 starting next week.

I would rotate them every other day and take 1-2 days a week off. This would be my routine if I wasn't too out of shape to do more then 3 circuits. There is also a 30 day challenge that I found a couple years ago (you could try googling it), but it used 30DS, BFBM, and NMTZ and had a 30 day workout schedule. HTH!

I am going to try this but since I dont have BFBM I will substitute those days with some Ripped in 30. (After I do my Ripped in 30 days). Thanks for mentioning this, I've really been wondering how to mix and match effectively and this takes any guess work out of it :)

Thanks for finding this Saffyra. I'm about 2/3 way through 30DS and was trying to figure out what to do next and this might be the answer since I have all these videos - just haven't started any of them!

I don't love RI30 like I love 30DS either. I'm not sure what I don't like about it---it's just meh. 30DS seemed a little more effective for me.

I also have BFBM and NMTZ. BFBM is cardio and I do that on days I can't run. NMTZ is strength training and it's fairly difficult. I only do that one once, maybe twice a week. I really like NMTZ.

I might try that 30 day challenge--thanks for posting that!

i say the better one is NMTZ. its mostly strength training. You will continue to burn calories for hours after your workout versus BFBM is all cardio, and with cardio you stop burning calories when you stopped working out. I love NMTZ!

I'd like to report that my DVDs NMTZ AND BFBM are coming in the mail on the 21st:bigsmile: And I plan to start the 30 day Challenge the sunday before they arrive, if anyone would like to join me you are more than welcome too:drinker:
  • I hate BFBM, but then...not a fan of cardio. I really like NMTZ, though. I haven't done it in months, I burnt myself out this past year with excessive working out [OCD-style!] and i'm just now working my way back into working out. I might break out the NMTZ here eventually, but right now I'm enjoying my cardio at the gym, and then I have apps on my phone for arm workouts, abs, legs and butt.

Ive done the challenge, and when I did it I didnt shorten NMTZ. It was really tough and I would recomend you try to get familiar with both of the dvds before starting the challenge. In my experience that takes about 4-6 workouts. Also, with the NMTZ, remember to up the weights as soon as you start to feel its getting to easy. Only doing NMTZ would probably work wonders if you did it 5 times a week and upped the weights every third week. Might get a bit boring do, so alternating with something else is a very good idea.

Thanks for this. Because at first I was thinking about doing NMTZ by itself for a while because I heard it's tough then I changed my mind. So the new plan is to do NMTZ 2-4 weeks and BFBM 2-4 weeks. then I'll do the 30 day challenge. Thanks again:flowerforyou:

Any suggestions? I got my DVDs in the mail recently and so far i've only done BFBM, day 2/3 (started monday). I haven't been sore yet. Many reviews I've read were saying how sore they were they next day, etc. I've done the entire 54 minute workout and haven't been sore. I've felt the burn and was exhausted doing it...

Maybe I'm not trying hard enough, idk. But I am so tempted to go back to the shred because I loved it soo much and I got amazing results from it. Maybe I should switch to NMTZ? It's just hard for me doing a workout unsure if i'll get results and usually soreness means I'm doing it rite and it'll pay off. Help?:ohwell:

Faithlhope: BFBM will not make you sore, its not resistance training so theres nothing to become sore of. Youll burn a lot of calories and if youre on a deficit that means youll loose weight but unless you combine with something else you wont build any muscle.

I just did BFBM for my fourth time now and I am noticing already an improvement in my workout. It's still tough, but I feel so good after! I am a little sore the day after but not as bad as the first time I did it (it was the first real exercise I did in who knows how long). I plan on getting another of her workout dvds once I can get through this one a little easier and would love to do a challenge with them soon!
