So, this is not the first calorie counter website I have used, but I hope it's the last. While I am no longer at my highest weight, I am so tired of feeling like this.
I am a nurse, and find many challenges with 2 young children (3 and a half and 21 months) a busy husband and keeping up with everything.
I was exercising really well for about 4 weeks, andlost no weight but felt better. Then our house came down with flu and cold for two weeks. So I have been recovering from laryngitis, and a sinus infection.
I am tentative about MFP, and I am hoping to find an open community here (as opposed to some other communitites out there).
If there are other nurses in my situation I would love to hear from you! I work 12 hour shifts, straight days at present (the old 2 on 2 off schedule). I would especially love to hear how you cope with missed breaks.

Hello and welcome to MFP!
I am also a nurse, but I work 8 hour day shifts in a clinic, so I can usually get a snack in .... Is it possible to snack on the floor in your charting room if you miss a break? Maybe pack lunches that don't need to be heated up? Not sure on your policies, but I know when I worked acute we had treats in the charting room all the time, that noone would ever notice if you ate your lunch there.
I will be honest with you and say that I have done every thing under the sun to lose weight since having my twins almost 6 years ago. I had good success with Weight Watchers but I was a yo-yo, I couldn't stick to it. I tried the acai berry, the 2 shakes a day, this that and the other thing... honestly, MFP is what has worked best for me. I count calories, and exercise outside (will change due to winter) and I have had the best success I've ever seen without pay a cent!....and it seems the habits have formed.
So I wish you good luck and I feel for you, but know there are alot of people here in your shoes as well... its a great place for support, motivation (see the success stories) and friendship. Add me as a friend if you would like!
GOOD LUCK!0
