I was trying to log it today but because of the variation in speed I am having a hard time....I am doing it on a treadmill. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I'm not doing C25k, but I do lots of walking breaks in my running, so I did the "create your own exercise" thing and titled it Run/Walk Intervals. Then just put in what the treadmill says for calories burned (or if you use an HRM, use that because it's probably more accurate)
  • I sometimes do intervals as well and I just figure out how many minutes out of the total exercise I walked/jogged, log those, and then figure out how many minutes I jogged/ran, and log those separately. :)

If you are doing it on a treadmill, doesn't it tell you how many calories you are burning?
Alternatively, if you use Excel, I have a spreadsheet that will calculate it. If you are interested, send me a PM and I'll give you a link to it.

I've been creating my own exercise, and checking the calories burned for each part of the C25K, and then add 'em together.
(Walking for 20 Mins at my weight and speed says 155 calories, and running at my weight and speed said 136 = 291)
I don't know how accurate this is, but it's the way that I've been doing it.

I am doing C25K on the treadmill. I just created my own exercise called "C25K" and each day when I'm done I enter the time and the calories the treadmill says I burned. Breaking it down to run & walk calories would be too distracting.....just one entry with total time and calories seems to work just fine. If you were running outside it would be harder to track for sure.

Thanks so much for your replies! I was trying to add a new exercise from my phone without much luck but it was easy on the website :) So many people seem to be doing the C25K that it seems strange it is not a searchable exercise on MFP...

You can get half way affordable HRM's that will track your calorie burn based on yoru age weight and heart rate. When i'm doing unconventional exercises or workout DVDs i'll wear mine to get an idea of how many cals i'm burning and then create a custome exercise in MFP to track it. For example when I do the Jillian Michaels dvd's i have a custom workout saved with my personal calorie burn.
