Hey :) Just a quick question - in the tracker when pasta is listed, say 1 cup, do you take that to mean cooked or dry?

Unless it says cooked, it's always dry.

You can search on "pasta cooked" or "pasta dry" to find what you want.

    Thanks :)
  • Whoops, I didn't know that, assumed it was cooked, that might have altered a few days totals for me! *facepalm*

Cuz think about it like this:

If you and I cook the same amount of pasta but I cook mine al dente and you overcook yours, yours will weigh more because it absorbed more water but the water doesn't add any calories so our dishes end up the same, calorie-wise. That's why it's always dry. :)

A potion of pasta is 2 ounces, by weight, this is the standard. I cup dry is a volume measurement which would be considered at least 2 portions, possibly more, and is what 2 ounces generally looks like when cooked.
