Hello!! I signed up for MFP a year ago...The only thing that I did was track what I ate and exercise. I have lost 40 pounds since this time last year, but have been so terrible in my efforts the last several months. I would love some support, but I guess I need to do more research on how to become part of a support group on here. Do we just find friends on here, request friends and go from there?

I guess I can start with introducing myself. I am a working mother with two beautiful young children and a supportive husband. Working and kiddos takes up all of my time. I am almost 30 and have about 45 pounds to lose.

I use food to comfort and reward myself. I hate telling myself I can't have certain foods and am working to have a different relationship with food and my body. I know I can do this!

 I too had signed up quite some time ago and tracked my progress but didnt really 'branch out' into the MFP world until recently... It has made ALLL the difference for me. Friends on MFP are like no other, that is for sure! The more friends you have on here, the more support you get! Add me if you like!
  • Hello,
I need to loose some serious weight! I'm only 21 and I look as if i had 5 kids! I'm just look ing for some words of encouragement. Juliataker...Did you really loose 40 pounds just tracking your calories? Any other tips you may have?

Here's a little bit about me....
I'm a married...fulltime worker and student. Thing get really busy and I can never find time to excerise. I also would like to have kids ones day but I want to loose at least 40 pounds before I even think about having a kid! So if any one has some tips or words of encourgement I'm listening.....
  • I hear and feel your pain! I just recently was turned on to this site and am really enjoying it. I also have 2 kids -- 1 is 3 1/2 and the other (a step-child) is 15. Between work and spending time with my kids/family it is hard. Two things I have found to really really help me is (1) making a menu for the week at the beginning of the week (for dinners). This helps me to balance my eating. If we are going to have something high in carbs I will eat less carbs for Breakfast and lunch and so on. (2) I keep lots of healthy snacks out where I can see them and put the "unhealthy" stuff in cupboards up high! "out of site out of mind" sort of.
Now I still eat what I want (for the most part) just smaller amounts. I don't believe in debriving yourself but a lot is in moderation. I look forward to helping support you in your goals and also learning from you as well. We can do this!!!!
