I am new (about 3 weeks of use) to MFP and am discovering new ways to eat better within the suggested calorie intake specific to my goals. If you had 1 piece of advice, just starting out with the calorie counting, what would it be? I'm very interested and excited about joining a network of encouragement!

So glad you are here! My advice would just be to take it one day at a time and be strong! You can do this!

my advice would be..............don't worry if you get it wrong or find it hard to stay under, i was like a yo-yo for the first few weeks. Stick at it, keep positive and get a good group of friends to help you.

    Hope this helps

    Enjoy yourself!

You'll never sustain a calorie deficit for very long if you feel unhappy. Deprivation leads to cravings and before long it comes to a head and you'll implode.

You can lose weight and have fun doing it. I've rediscovered lots of wonderful, tasty foods. I may have cut down, but I haven't cut out and if I fancy something naughty but nice, I build it into my weekly plan... or have a half-portion
