Hey team 4 - how are we all going?!?

Well I started a new job yesterday - so I was too busy setting up things and forgot to have morning tea or afternoon tea - so sadly didnt eat much fruit and worse, I didnt drink very much water.

BUT!!!! On Mondays I now do street orienteering - yep, running around the streets (and through bush/parkland) looking for little punches for my card. It was AWESOME! I LOVE running, but my partner doesnt - but I tell you what, make it competative - and he was all over it! He loved it as much as I did, and he finally gets the love of running. It made me think - is there something you've done to change a workout - to make it from just exercise, to something you love? When I first got back into running I purchased a GPS watch, and the motivation this little toy gave me was incredible. (Oh yeah and now my boyfriend wants one too, now he LOVES running haha!!). So I am feeling quite pleased with myself today - it was 26 degrees, humidity was high, and the course was hilly. 6kms in 50 minutes. So now just 7 sleeps and I can do it all again!

How are your weeks going? Anyone like me proud of an achievement and want to share? Need some support or encouragement, or help to prise your fingers from the icecream bowl (icecream is my weakness!).

Brooke

Oohhhh...I was on a mini-vacation last weekend (Sat-Sun) and there was LOTS of high cal, delish food!!!! So i tried to keep portion sizes down, and while I was probably over a bit both days, I DID go for a short run one morning - which I am so proud of!

Today I tried to stay under - made it *barely*!!:grumble:
I did go for a long walk up and down hills, so that made me feel good - I like to get my blood going, after being indoors all day.

So hoping TOM doesn't mess with my weight loss this week. Lets hit it, team 4!!!

I'm really loving this weeks challenge. The closest steps I have are 30hr away, so it gives me that extra boost to go further. I do it with my younger 2 children and they love it. My middle child is SUPER active and does actually most of the steps with me, it's fun for him while I'm puffing:laugh: .
Some days I'm having trouble eating all my calories, it's not everyday, just some, is that bad? I don't want to do anything that will slow my weight loss.
I'm loving that my husband is now supporting me and is loving the fact that I want to be healthy, it took him a while but I love that he is there now.
Let's put all our negatives behind us and keep moving forward, (it's easier when we are lighter) We can do it. GO TEAM 4!!!!

aranchmom - Ah dont worry about the mini vacation - its called life! Im even proud of you for getting up and going for a run, thats so motivating!! I know what you mean about being cooped up indoors - the chance to get out is exilerating - why didnt I discover that earlier!!?? Oh TOM, dont you hate that..... Sometimes its just not fair lol!

Premium - 30 hours away??? I dont have any steps unfortunately, but kudos for you for giving it 150%!! I know what you mean also about some days - Im exactly like that! I think its the weekly average that matters, so dont focus too much on the indivdual days when it comes to that. So nice that your hubby is on side now. Must be such a motivational boost! I bet he'll be more supportive when he see's that butt getting littler lol

Do you think we need a team name? Or just team 4....?

Ive had the slackest day - I am at work, but there is noone around, so ive been busy on these boards haha!!

All of you are doing so wonderful! Keep it up! You know, I was at the mall last week and texted my cousin all the things I wanted to buy (to eat) but was being strong, doing this challenge, and so I passed it by - and what a glorious list it was! Coney dog, Godiva, pretzel with honey mustard, cream puff sundae, french fries, spring rolls and a carmel latte...... Anyhow, she sent back that nothing will taste quite as good as being thin will feel! It was just what I needed to hear at the time! I've been keeping it in mind ever since.

I have a bad cold so I've done really poor on the water and the mini challenge. Doing all I can just to get to my 1200 measly calories right now. LOL!

Anyhow, keep it up and I love seeing what you all write - it really does give me encouragement to keep the exercise and eating write on track!

    Good morning Team 4!! :flowerforyou:

I am proud to say that I RESISTED the candy, brownies and other junk I wanted last nite!!!  I watched NCIS with Hubby, and I love my late-night snacking ever so much. I could barely concentrate on Abby for thinking of the chocolate in the cupbard....but I DIDN"T get any!! WooHoo!! I drank another glass of water and went to bed.:drinker: BUT---I did have a brownie this am, so I will need to go on another long walk today.  Maybe-just maybe-I am learning self control.
So lets rock this week! I would love Team 4 to be #1 in weightloss this week, wouldn't you??
and hey - lets think of a name, that would be cool!

Hey team 4. I walked up my stairs at work, today i walked up to the 11th floor, 261 steps in 3 minutes, i hope to go up to the 18 floor tomorrow on that 5 minutes. Its useless doing it at home, I only have 10 steps. It would take me all night to do the five minutes.
I am struggling with my water intake tho. I wake and go to the loo about 5 times at nights. i dont think I can manage to drink 10 glasses.
Jumping jacks are a killer, but I blast my favourite tune and get on with it.
    HOW YOU ALL DOING.
I am not looking forward to the scales this friday, it was my son birthday and there was loads of chocolate cake. just imagine.

WOW! Sounds tiring! LOL! I don't have any steps...and we live 25 mi from town, so no chance of me getting my steps in. boo.
But - we do have steep little hills, so I have been walking up/down them lately.

I like it! I think it sounds great. What does everyone else think?

I've been doing my steps but finding it really hard to get motivated to do the jumping jacks. MSENIOR, that sound like a good idea to put on a favourite tune and just do it. I'm going to try that today, and by the way....CONGRATS on the steps, that's an amazing job, good on you!!

I like the name too! One more and we might have the majority :)

I have to admit I havent been able to do any stairs. Slack I know - I do work on the 6th floor of a 12 story building - but I wear heals and I keep forgetting to bring in some thongs or flats to do it in. Im not sure my feet would forgive me if I did any stairs in these shoes ;)

aranchmom and msenior - you guys are rocking it!
  • OMG. I find Saturday's so hard.
Yesterday I ended up abandoning the whole MFP system after lunch. I just couldn't put in my dinner. But I definitely was mindful not to each as much as I would have in past times. But definitely Saturday nights are the hardest for me.

How does everyone else cope with Saturday nights and wanting to let your hair down?

Yes I agree Saturday nights can be tough! Last night I wanted a beer so badly (but in reality knew I wanted 6!) but I got lucky, I went outside and noticed how cold it had gotten. By the time I took the washing off the line, the feeling had passed. I was so cold, I wanted a cup of tea!

But normally.... Im not sure how I manage. We try and cook something new for dinner, like a yummy new recipe to try (at the moment we are right into cooking Cambodian food, from our last holiday!) and often I do have a glass of wine. I guess we are a bit older so going out isnt our thing. We used to go to the movies often on a Saturday night, but then we realised how many people were there and have found another night since. I do find though that Saturday morning is my big exercise day - so perhaps you could spend the morning buring as many calories then dont worry about the afternoon. By the sounds of it, you're aware how much you were eating in the past and have cut down - thats awesome!!
