Well for those of you that read my knee injury post and offered so much great advice, I just wanted to fill you in:smile: I saw my orthopedic dr yesterday and I do indeed have a tear:frown: Its a meniscual (sp?) tear and he gave me a shot of cortisone in the knee (ouch!:noway: ). We are hoping that the cortisone shot works, because the only other option according to him to to go in there and "clean/scrape it out! I DO NOT want surgery on my knee, regardless of how minor:cry:
But heres something I forgot to ask him before I left the office (gonna try to call later, but not sure if their in on Sats?) If the cortisone shot was gonna work, would it have worked immediately? Because when I left the office after receiving the shot, I still had the same pain...then last evening (about 4 hrs after the shot) my leg was in ALOT ALOT of pain. Maybe sore and aggravated from the shot? This morning it isnt as extreme pain as it was last night, but still have pain there:frown:
Does anyone know if cortisone shots are supposed to work immediately, or if they take a day or so to work...? Thanks for any info!:flowerforyou:

Did he offer you any physical therepy for your inj? Also recovery after the surg. for most is a good 6 weeks. What kind of work do you do if you dontmind me asking? It can make all the difference in the world on your recovery. More then likely today your knee might not feel so hot, he prob used something called lidicaine with the injection which numbs the site he inj the site with. Hope this answered all your questions if ya have anymore give me a shout!!

Wow! Thank you so much for this. He didnt tell me it might take that long to actually work, but that gives me hope still:smile: That means to me that just because it isnt working NOW doesnt mean it wont at all right? So, just maybe it will start working and I can avoid the surgery:happy:
No, he didnt offer me any type of physical therapy, I guess we were both just hoping that the shot will take care of it? Dont really know why he didnt offer it...should I ask him about it do you think? I dont work at the moment, but was hoping to go back to work soon. Im a dental assistant, so theres about equal time sitting and running around the office lol. But I have to wait to see whats going to happen with the knee before I can begin to look into going back.
Thank you so much for your help, and any other advice you have for me is TRULY, very appreciated:flowerforyou:
